Vietnam tuna exports in 2022

This result reflects the positive trend of exports to the Japanese market because it is not only higher than the same period, but also is nearly double that of the same period in 2019.

This figure contributed to raising the total value of tuna exports in the third quarter to more than 46 million USD, up 47% over the same period in 2021. After the decline in the second quarter, Vietnam's tuna exports to this market have recovered. This is also an optimistic sign because this number is 41% higher than the same period in 2019, the time before the pandemic.

Accumulated in the first 9 months of 2022, Vietnam's tuna exports reached nearly US$808 million, up 55% over the same period in 2021. Thus, tuna exports continued to grow over the same period, but export value tends to decrease month by month.

The value of Vietnam's tuna exports to this market block in the first 8 months of 2022 increased by 40% over the same period in 2021, reaching nearly $66 million, the highest level in the past 5 years.

According to statistics from Vietnam Customs, the value of tuna exports in August 2022 increased by 86% compared to the same period in 2021, reaching nearly 92 million USD.
